What Is MCT Oil?

MCT Oil (Medium Chain Triglycerides) are special types of saturated fats that are derived from coconut and palm oils. Unlike long-chain triglycerides, MCTs are used by the body quickly and easily. Because LCTs (Long Chain Triglycerides) are larger and more difficult to use, they are naturally stored in the body. MCTs are more easily absorbed and used by the body thanks to their smaller size. While MCT Oil is often found in liquid form, it also comes in other forms, such as softgels, powders, gel caps, pills, tablets and capsules.

Directions: For adults, take one (1) tablespoon (15 mL) one to three times daily, preferably with food. MCT Oil can be used in salad dressings, sauces or cooking as a source of beneficial fatty acids. Do not use MCT Oil for frying due to low boiling point.
